About One Day Film
One Day Film does what it says in the title - A film in one day! The challenge is to make a five minute film from concept to completion in 24hours.
Just to clarify this means:
the concept // the script // the shoot // the edit // upload onto the One Day Film Website
- within in 24hours. All we give you is one word at 6am.
The creator of One Day Film, Jade Clarke, came up with the idea due to the lack of opportunities for people to make films and also the impregnable film-making industry. He Says " to say the film industry is challenging is a an understatement. There is a definite lack of people being given the opportunity/motivation to make films. This is due to the soul destroying process of pre-production where you have too much time to smooth away at the rawness which usually makes a good film great."
I like to think there is a potential film maker in every single person so i'm trying to create an accessible platform for people to get a taste of the industry and get their creativity flowing. The competition isn't just open to university students its open to people across the whole spectrum of society. The only restriction is the time limit and the word we give you. Like Gusteau said 'Anyone can film, even a rat' and this is what the challenge makes people do.
All you have to do is sign up to the newsletter and you will be sent a date that the One Day Film competition will start. On that day the word will be posted up as the front page of the One Day Film Website from 6am. The entrants will be voted on via the website and then ten films with the highest amount of votes go through to the awards night. The top three films will be decided by our panel of independant jugdes and they will receive prizes.
